CRT Co-operative
Background
Combined Rural Traders was formed in 1927 from Producers Ltd and merged into CRT during the 1980s. It is totally farmer owned to use the collective power of its shareholders to improve their individual profitability. Now 23,000 farmer shareholders transact more than half a billion dollars worth of business through the co-operative annually.
CRT is the largest buying group of its type in New Zealand and now has 30 CRT Farm Centres throughout the South Island stocking a full range of farm inputs.
A very diverse rural group, CRT employs over 400 staff. Other brands under the CRT banner include CRT Seeds, Feeds, Real Estate, Fuel and Horticulture.
Opportunity
CRT was looking to create an apparel and merchandising range that supported its strong brand presence to strengthen its promotional thrust. It had to be functional, smart and at the same time help the staff and stakeholders to feel good about the CRT brand.
Solution
Apparel and Merchandising Solutions Ltd created an effective solution by specifically designing, sourcing and warehouseing a full promotional apparel and merchandise range at cost effective prices. An on-line solution was introduced so staff could have easy access to the products.
